Integrative Counselling in Milton Keynes and Online

Integrative Counselling in Milton Keynes and Online

I'm here to offer you a space where you can explore whatever's on your mind without fear of judgement or pressure to be anyone other than yourself. My approach to counselling is built around you and what works best for your unique situation.

Initial Consultation

Before we begin working together, I offer a free 20-30 minute phone consultation. This gives us both a chance to chat about what's bringing you to counselling and see if we feel like a good fit. There's no commitment, just an opportunity to ask questions and get a feel for how I work.

My Approach

Integrative and person-centred

As an integrative counsellor, I draw from different therapeutic approaches to create something that works specifically for you. My foundation is person-centred therapy, which puts you firmly in the driver's seat of your own journey. I also incorporate psychodynamic techniques when helpful, looking at patterns and connections that might be influencing how you're feeling now.

What this means in practice is that our sessions will be led by what you need most. Some days you might want to talk through immediate concerns, other times you might want to explore deeper patterns or past experiences. I follow your lead, offering gentle guidance and insights when they feel useful, but never pushing you in directions that don't feel right.

I believe you're the expert on your own life. My role is to provide a safe, supportive space where you can explore, understand, and make sense of whatever you're experiencing.

How I Work

Every session is 50 minutes and we'll typically meet weekly, though this can be flexible based on what works best for you. Sessions don't have to be regular weekly appointments; we can meet every now and then, monthly, or whatever frequency feels right for your needs and circumstances.

I work at your pace. If you're not ready to talk about something, that's absolutely fine. If you want to spend several sessions on one particular issue, that's okay too. There's no agenda other than supporting you in the way that feels most helpful.

Every session is designed to have real value, there's always something meaningful to take away, whether it's a new insight, a different perspective, or practical tools you can use. It's not just talk; it's genuine progress toward feeling better and moving forward.

Sessions are currently offered online via secure video call, giving you the privacy and comfort of joining from your own space while still having that personal connection.

The challenges that bring people to therapy

Life has a way of presenting us with difficulties when we least expect them. I work with adults experiencing a wide range of concerns, including anxiety and panic attacks that feel overwhelming, depression and low mood that just won't shift, grief and loss that feels too heavy to carry alone, and relationship difficulties that leave you feeling disconnected or hurt.

I also support people struggling with confidence and self-esteem issues, fear of change or facing new situations, bereavement, trauma, and stress. Many clients come to me dealing with difficult childhood experiences that continue to impact their lives today, or finding it hard to cope with emotions and communicate effectively in their relationships.

Perhaps you're feeling stuck in patterns you can't seem to break, or facing challenges that feel too big to handle on your own. Whatever you're going through, you don't have to navigate it alone.

Supporting young adults through life's transitions

I have particular experience working with people in their twenties and thirties who are navigating the complexities of adult life. This might include struggling with identity and self-worth, feeling pressure about career choices, or finding it difficult to maintain healthy relationships. The transition from university to working life, moving away from family support, or simply feeling like you don't quite know who you are yet - these are all challenges I understand and work with regularly.

Life changes and new chapters

I also support people going through major life transitions, whether that's adjusting to new parenthood, dealing with bereavement, facing job changes, or any significant shift that's left you feeling uncertain or overwhelmed. Sometimes these changes are chosen, sometimes they're thrust upon us, but either way they can leave us feeling lost or anxious about the future.

Whatever you're facing, we can explore it together in a safe, confidential space. Get in touch today.
